THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: How will you respond to a site where you get entertainment as well as a few tips to better your career? This is what www. flatparty.com offers. Besides, they also offer a platform to discuss issues plaguing the state. The site was launched in Kerala, a month ago and is controlled by a US company.

The company representatives said that they have so far a tie-up with 1500 companies across the world. “ This is so that job seekers can upload their resume. It’s different from other job portals where the site only focuses on jobs. But here you will get entertainment as well,” said Anoop, a representative of the company.

The team is also working to enter into a tie-up with the companies of the country especially those in Kerala.

“ The talks are on with Technopark and Infopark. Several other companies have also come forward announcing their decision to work with us,” Anoop said about the initiatives. Regarding social issues, the stray dog menace has assumed high importance as a hot topic in the portal.

They have already collected a sum to extend financial assistance to a three-yearold boy Devanand who is a victim of stray dog menace. “ Such issues and discussions are very much live in social networking sites. However, unfortunately, it ends there and does not go beyond it.

That’s the main reason why we also planned to make a platform to discuss such issues. We will also try to take up the suggestions made here with the government,” Anoop said. The money will be handed over to Devanand’s parents next week, he added.
