Man Arrested for Theft Attempt

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kadinmakulam police on Sunday arrested a 27-year-old man on charges of theft attempt. The accused  has been identified as Rajeev, belonging to Shanthipuram, near Kadinamkulam.

According to the police, the arrest was made following an attempt made by the accused on September 4 to burgle the residence of one Vincent at Shanthipuram.

The accused broke into the house between 12 midnight and 1 am using an iron road. He also destroyed a CCTV camera installed at the portico of the house.

When he tried to take some gold ornaments kept on the dining table, the owners woke up by hearing some sound. However, the theft bid was foiled and the accused ran way from the residence.

The accused was later caught by the police officials on Sunday morning and produced before the magistrate, the police said.
