THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It was a fun-filled event that kindled the curiosity of children present at the schoolkutty.com children’s library as the place hosted an astronomy workshop for children. The interactive session was held for school students from class III to VIII.

Kiran Mohan, member of ASTRO club in the city and an ameteur astronomer who routinely conducts similar astronomy workshops conducted the workshop. From the solar system to Milky Way and Andromeda and the countless number of stars, they were introduced to the vast world of space.

“ We were also looking at holding a star-gazing session for which I had also bought a telescope. Unfortunately, as the sky was not clear, the session could not be held,” he said. It seems that the children found the workshop very much interesting and fun, with the curious youngsters throwing questions one after the other on the occasion.“ The children who attended the two - hour long workshop was an enthusiastic bunch. Though some students knew most of the basic things, they had the thirst to learn more. The students were looking forward to the star-gazing so they even insisted on another such session. A stargazing event for the children will be held,” Kiran said.
