THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Tourism has launched an ‘International Photography Contest’ to highlight the state’s tourism potential.
Participants can submit entries on the website www.keralatourism.org. The first three prizes carry a purse of `5 lakh, `3 lakh and `2 lakh, respectively. There are also five consolation prizes of `1 lakh each. Each contestant can make a maximum of three entries. The photographs should be original and clicked between January 1, 2014, and December 31, 2015, and the participant should hold its copyright. Digitally-manipulated photographs will be disqualified. The submissions must have at least 1000 pixels, but not more than 3000 in either height or width. They should be saved in jpg format, and should not exceed 4MB per file, at 72dpi resolution. The selected images will be added to Kerala tourism’s image bank.
“The competition that attracts participants from across the globe will further expand the state’s tourism market and encourage more visitors to explore our land,” Tourism Secretary G Kamala Vardhana Rao said. Visitors to the website would also get an opportunity to rate the photographs.
