THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:The Indo-American Press Club, headquartered in the US, has announced the various awards it has instituted. Public Works Minister V K Ibrahim Kunju has been selected for the Minister of Excellence Award. The Karmashreshta Award is for social worker Daya Bhai and the Sadbhavana Award for Boby Chemmannur.
Ibrahim Kunju has been chosen for the modernisation activities related to the development of basic infrastructure in the state for the past four years. Daya Bhai has been chosen, taking into account her initiatives among the adivasis in Northern India.
The mass run programme organised to take the message of voluntary blood donation forward has made Boby Chemmannur eligible for the award.
The awards will be given away at the International Media Conference to be held at Long Island in New York from October 9 to 12. Mediapersons from India, America, Britain and Australia will take part.
