Connecting With the Ham Radio

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The stall providing fancy info on ham radio at the Global Education Fair, had a lot of visitors here on Tuesday. The operators of the stall Jose and son Tom, who have been experimenting on various aspects of amateur radio for years could be seen describing the use of radio frequency spectrum of ham radio for wireless communication and experiments.

The stall set up by the National Institute of Amateur Radio were one among the attractions of Global Education Fair organised by Jam’iyyat Da’wa wa Tablighul (JDT) Islam at Vellimaadukunnu.

 200 stalls showcasing educational kits and materials, placement corners for job aspirants  and free medical camps were set up at the fair. Seminars on different topics by experts, book exhibitions by well-known publishers, exhibition of contemporary mural paintings were also conducted as part of the fair. Stalls created by students of Bengaluru Srishti School of Arts and Science, painting exhibition by Francis Kodankandath and various other stalls set up by foreign universities were highlights of the fair which will conclude on April 14.
