‘Qisa 2016’ award nite today

‘Cautious 2 - Aaanum Pennum’ a movie by Vishnulal Sudha of Envestnet in Technopark, has been adjudged the best film at the 5th edition of ‘Prathidhwani Qisa Film Festival’ for IT employees.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: ‘Cautious 2 - Aaanum Pennum’ a movie by Vishnulal Sudha of Envestnet in Technopark, has been adjudged the best film at the 5th edition of ‘Prathidhwani Qisa Film Festival’ for IT employees.


Vishnulal Sudha also won the best director award for the same movie. ‘Paambum Koneem’ directed by Mohammed Sohal of TCS, Infopark has been adjudged second best film. The award for best screenplay went to Mahesh Haridas of Quest Global in Technopark for the film ‘Paambum Koneem’.

Award nite 


The awards under various categories will be given away at a gala event to be held at the Travancore Hall of the Technopark at 6 pm on Thursday. Noted filmmaker Jayaraj will be the chief guest of the function.
The award winning short films along with Sidhartha Siva’s latest flick ‘Chathuram’ will also been screened at the award function. The film festival was organised by Prathidhwani, a socio-cultural organisation of Technopark employees.


Though the previous editions of Qisa was exclusively for Technopark employees, Qisa 2016 ensured the participation of IT employees across the state. 


Other winners
The best actor award was shared by Rahul (Film: ‘Bappa’), Shiyas (Film: ‘100’) and Sajith Joseph (Film: ‘1810’).


Four films also received special mention from the jury. These are: ‘1810’ directed by Abin Philip (Allianz, Technopark), ‘Mattoru Katha’ directed by Mridul George (Visual IQ, Infopark), ‘F.A.Q.’ directed by Vishnu Soman (Allianz, Technopark) and ‘Troll Life’ directed by Rahul Riji Nair (TCS, Infopark), 

The jury
The jury comprised noted film critic M F Thomas (chairman), filmmaker Sanal Kumar Shashidharan and author and filmmaker Sreebala K Menon. 
A total of 32 films that were selected for the festival were screened before the jury at Travancore Hall of Technopark on December 3.
