THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As many as 50 students of Government College of Nursing here were hospitalised on Monday after food poisoning. The students were admitted to the casualty wing of the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College after they complained of uneasiness and vomiting.
The condition of the students was not serious and some of them had been discharged, sources said. Nursing College Principal L Nirmala also said that two of the teachers had also complained of uneasiness.
The nursing college authorities said that it was not the food served at the mess that had led to the food poisoning. It is doubted that the food that was served during the graduation ceremony on Saturday might have caused the poisoning. The food for the function was brought from outside.
