THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Goethe Zentrum Thiruvananthapuram is organising a jazz concert by the German jazz band, Melt Trio, at Hotel Hilton Garden on December 8. The concert will begin at 7 p.m.
Melt Trio is on a South Asia tour and it comprises Peter Meyer on guitar, Bernhard Meyer on bass and Moritz Baumgärtner on drums.
After two well-received albums - Melt, 2011 and Hymnolia 2013 - Melt Trio is coming out with their third Album Stroy. ‘’The brothers Peter and Bernhard Meyer and Moritz Baumgärtner have invented a sound that overrides established concepts of jazz improvisation, alternative rock, modern classical music and ambient sound,’’ Goethe Zentrum said in a statement.
The trio’s third album reflects the musicians’ polished style. The jazz trio have further developed their skills through collaborations with musicians Jan Bang, Tony Malaby, John Hollenbeck, Jim Black and Theo Bleckmann.
‘’The ease with which Meyer, Meyer and Baumgärtner change between clear contours and openly widening forms, wonderfully rich melody and sound, interesting harmonies and rhythmic finesse, is path breaking in the European music landscape,’’ according to the statement.
