Howzzaat!!! All Kerala Celestial Trophy Cricket Tournament begins in State capital

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The capital will witness cricket action over the course of the next few weeks with City Police Commissioner G Sparjan Kumar inaugurating the 22nd MPS India - All Kerala Celestial Trophy Cricket Tournament organised by the Murugan Cricket Club, Thiruvananthapuram, at the Agriculture College Ground in Vellayani on Thursday. 

Defending champions AG’s Office Recreation Club, State Bank of Travancore, KCA Academy Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam and Muthoot Yamaha Masters CC along with hosts Murugan CC will be among the 42 teams that will participate in the tournament graded ‘A level’ by the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA). 

Matches will begin at 8 am and 12.45 pm with Cosmos CC B facing Blue Jets CC and Bhenix CC facing Fighters CC in the opening rounds. Team Yuva CC, Thiruvananthapuram will face Tenvic Cricket Academy from 8 am on Friday. 

Murugan CC A will face Ashes CC from 8 am on Saturday while Sussex CC, Kollam face Sreetarama CC, Thiruvananthapuram from 12.45 pm on the same day. 

The matches will be played at the Agricultural College Ground, Medical College Ground and KCA-St Xavier’s College Ground, Thumba. The semifinals will be played on February 18 while the final is scheduled for February 19 at Thumba.  

Thiruvananthapuram District Cricket Association secretary Vinod S Kumar, vice-president Rejith Rajendran, KCA finance committee advisor Reghunath, Murugan CC joint secretary Girish K R and vice-president Pramod Kumar were also present.
