THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Train better, perform better. The Kerala State  Electricity Board (KSEB) has come out with a training policy for its employees with the aim of enriching the “capability of human  resources in KSEB to maximise organisational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.”

The policy will come into effect in the 2017-18 fiscal.
A highlight of the policy is the introduction of a credit system for employees. Employees are allocated credit points on successful completion of training programmes. The policy proposes that every employee accumulates a specific number of credits and become eligible for further elevation in his/her career, including the time-bound grade promotion.
It “guarantees quality training at all levels of employees to develop their potential and to empower them with a view to maximising their output levels and thereby contributing to the total, inclusive, customer friendly and integrated organisational growth,” the KSEB said in an order.
To enhance skill levels of the employees, the policy lays emphasis on providing opportunities for training abroad as well as increasing the scope of industry-institution interaction.
The training policy is founded on the National  Training Policy 2012 issued by the Department  of Personnel & Training (Training Division),  Union Ministry of Personnel and the National Training Policy for the power sector issued by the Power Ministry. The KSEB had constituted a committee for formulating it.
