THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government on Wednesday rolled out OP Transformation in medical colleges and state-run hospitals, aimed at allowing patients to manage appointments, securely access health records and correspond with doctors.
Inaugurating the OP Transformation, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the government’s aim is to give a face-lift to government hospitals in the state. The Chief Minister also inaugurated the functioning of the new block of the SAT Hospital here.
With the introduction of OP Transformation, there will be no queues and no more waiting at Medical Colleges and government hospitals, he said.
The government will soon give approval to the master plan for the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College.
An amount of Rs 400 crore has been earmarked in the budget through KIIFB for the development of the Medical College, he said.
Health Minister K K Shylaja said OP Transformation is being implemented as part of the Aadram Mission. The aim of the government is to create a patient-friendly atmosphere in medical colleges and government hospitals, she said.
Cooperation Minister Kadakampally Surendran, Revenue Minister E Chandrasekharan, Arogya Keralam State Mission director Kesavendra Kumar, DME Dr Remla Beevi and Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Principal Thomas Mathew were present.
