THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a suspected case of murder, the decomposed body of a man covered using grass and coconut leaves was found in a drain on a road at Kilimanoor on Wednesday evening.
Kilimanoor sub-inspector Baiju V said the body, suspected to be of a person aged around 50, was about four days old. Preliminary evidence suggest it as a case of murder. Some wounds were spotted on the head of the corpse. Efforts were on to verify the identity of the person, he said.
The body was spotted by local residents who searched the area after foul smell started emanating. Police are scanning the CCTV footage from different houses and commercial establishments in the area to get a lead. Photograph and details of the body have been sent to all police stations to trace the identity of the deceased.
