THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a suspected case of suicide, the body of a 43-year-old man was found floating on Akkulam lake here on Tuesday morning. The deceased is Murugan, a resident of ‘Visakham’, Kariyavattom, who was working as a messenger at Kerala IT Mission at Vellayambalam.
The Sreekariyam police have registered a case. Fire force officers found the body after they were alerted by locals about a motorcycle abandoned near the Akkulam bridge around 9 am.
Murugan’s body was found in the mud accumulated close to the hyacinth on the lake. It was fished out by fire force personnel and shifted to the morgue of the Medical College Hospital. The police said they had registered a missing case on Monday night based on a complaint by the relatives of Murugan.
