His condition is out of danger.

The victim’s father alleged that it was a revenge by a team involved in ganja sale among school students for tipping off their acts to school authorities.

Kattakkada Police which registered a case on Friday evening said the provocation for the attack could be known only in further investigation.

Sreedish, 17, son of Santhosh, Thadatharikathuveettil, Kottakuzhi, Poovachal, was attacked at his house in the evening. His father said the attack occurred at 8 pm.

“The assailants pelted stones at the house following which he came out of the house. They caught him by the collar and hacked him. He was dragged to the main gate and beat him on the head,” Santhosh said.

The three assailants, including a Plus-I student and two other youths, escaped on a bike after Sreedish ran to his neighbours for help. Santhosh was away from home and Sreedish’s mother and nine-year-old sister were present in the house at the time of the attack.
