THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:There are umpteen matrimony and dating sites which throw up a lot of potential matches. But, why is that we rarely find one who matches our interests? Well, fret not. With
Kettiko.com, you no longer will be stuck in the endless cycle of finding potential matches.
A startup founded by a group of techies, Kettiko.com was born after techie Jomy John’s failed attempts to find a match through various matrimony apps. Besides Jomy, the platform was founded by Ruby Alex, Ajin Joseph and Sanoj Keloth.

The birth

It was Jomy’s tryst with a matrimonial website that led to the founding of Kettiko. He kept strolling through a renowned matrimonial platform searching for a match and would mostly end up with rejection or no response. Frustrated with back-to-back rejections, Jomy decided to give up and that is when Ruby suggested: “why don’t we match up using data points?”.
They discussed this with Ajin, who instantly liked the concept of introducing personality traits into match-making, and joined the team. “In the application, we take the quality of the profiles into consideration rather than the quantity. The profile is flexible and one can customise the questions,” said Jomy John.

Personality matters

The approach taken by the traditional matrimony sites and contemporary dating platforms are mostly questionnaires involving career and demographic aspects. But in Kettiko, personality traits are also considered as a parameter. “We have taken out the traditional questions that appear in any other matrimony site such as colour and made the economic and caste category optional,” said Jomy.
The founders felt finding a match should be simple and not a laborious process so they named it ‘kettiko’ (go, get married’).

Kettiko Happiness Box

Kettiko recommends users a list of super matches and is powered by Kettiko Happiness Box (KHB).  KHB is an intelligent machine-learning algorithm which takes user preferences and personality as the input and finds a compatibility score with the match. It also learns more about the user along with the interaction in the application and fine-tunes the match list. Kettiko calculates user’s happiness score with a match and recommends super matches.

Kettiko is designed with top-notch user interactions and profile building steps, allowing users to tell their story, rather than listing off their resume. This app encourages people to have up to four  photos and four short prompts. Based on early signup trends, it appears that profile completion rates are extremely high. It is also evident that the process eliminates the fake profiles in the first go itself. Users can see the profiles only after it is verified. Kettiko has completed pre-incubation programme at the Indian Institute of Management, Bengaluru (IIMB) incubation centre.
