Search operations on to nab murderer in Krishna District

Gannavaram Police is conducting search operations to nab one Basavaiah who brutally murdered a woman and her son during the Krishnastami celebrations held at Tempalli village in Gannavaram Mandal.

VIJAYAWADA: Gannavaram Police is conducting search operations to nab one Basavaiah who brutally murdered a woman and her son during the Krishnastami celebrations held at Tempalli village in Gannavaram mandal of Krishna District on Wednesday night.According to Gannavaram Police, the deceased were identified as Jonnalagadda Nagalakshmi (30) and seven-year-old J Avinash. Police officials suspect that rivalry between Basavaiah and J Srinivas, husband of Nagalakshmi, led to the death of the duo.

They said, “As per primary investigation, we came to know that Basavaiah developed a grudge against Srinivasa Rao family’s suspecting their hand behind the death of his son who drowned in a tank a year ago.”Police further added that the accused along with his followers succeded in carrying out the murder of Nagalakshmi and Avinash with knives taking the advantage of Krishastami celebrations in the village. The duo died on the spot before being shifting to a hospital for treatment,” said police. A team has already inspected the murder spot. A case has been registered and investigation is on. Police is yet to arrest the accused Basavaiah.
