VIJAYAWADA: A complaint was lodged against actor and film producer Bandla Ganesh at Vijayawada police commissionerate for his vitriolic diatribe against Nagiri MLA Roja on a TV debate a few days ago.
Opposition YSRC party leaders and women YSRC corporators of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) met Joint police commissioner B V Ramana Kumar on Friday and lodged a complaint against Ganesh for casting aspersions on Roja when the two were discussing Pawan Kalyan’s comments on dynasty politics.
What initially started off as a discussion, organised by a vernacular media channel, turned into an ugly scuffle with both the MLA and the film producer exchanging a volley of words.
During the argument, Ganesh warned Roja not to criticize Pawan Kalyan and even used unparliamentary language. Soon after the video of their scuffle went viral on social media, women leaders of YSRCP registered a complaint with police seeking the arrest of Ganesh for making derogatory comments against Roja. They also demanded him to retract his statements against the MLA.
“He (Ganesh) should behave properly while talking to an MLA. Everyone in the film industry knows his character. Earlier, actor Meera Chopra and Sachin Joshi have spoken about his character,” said YSRC floor Leader in VMC council Bandi Naga Punyaseela.
A week ago, while addressing a gathering in Vizag, actor and Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief Pawan Kalyan hit out at YSRCP chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and made controversial comments on dynasty politics, alluding to Jagan. Vijayawada police is yet to react on the complaint lodged by the leaders.
