VIJAYAWADA: In a bid to counter YSRC Chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s padayatra, Telegu Desam Party is all set to advertise about the welfare programmes implemented by the party through ‘intintiki TDP’ programme by making ministers, MLAs and MLCs visit houses all over the State.

With this programme, the TDP aims to increase awareness among masses about the successful implementation of various programmes such as the achievement of Polavaram project, providing water to Krishna delta through Pattiseema irrigation project along with other welfare schemes.
The tour would be conducted from September 1 to October 30.  Within a span of 60 days, TDP wants to cover 175 constituencies in 13 districts.

The district and in-charge ministers are expected to participate in local level tour while the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will conduct meetings at district-level centres such as Kakinada, Vizag, Anantapur, Nellore etc. Some TDP members claimed that  that this programme would crush Jagan’s ambitious tour.

Minister for Roads and Buildings Ayyanna Patrudu said, “Even if Jagan conducts this yatra for six months, his programme  will not acquire as much fame as that of Chandrababu’s 2000km “Mee Kosam” yatra. TDP has developed the State by concentrating on each district individually. The establishment of corporations, giving importance to social communities has also increased TDP’s fame.”

Meanwhile, Reddy plans to start his tour from October 27. The strategy adopted by YSRCP is pointing out the failures of the TDP. Along with these, another tour would be conducted in the east and west districts by Mudragada Padmanabham, a politician belonging to the kapu community.
