1 killed, 3 severely injured in Vijaywada road accident

A pedestrian was killed and three others were severely injured in a road accident at Pedana village in Krishna District in the wee hours of Sunday.

VIJAYAWADA: A pedestrian was killed and three others were severely injured in a road accident at Pedana village in Krishna District in the wee hours of Sunday.

The police identified the deceased as Vaddi Ramakrishna (56), a fruit merchant. According to an eyewitness, the mishap occurred when an APSRTC bus driver lost control over the vehicle and rammed onto the pavement. The bus was traveling to Rajahmundry from Machilipatnam.

Sub Inspector A Ganesh Kumar said, “We are investigating whether the accident took place due to the driver’s fault. IPC 337 and 302 has been slapped against the driver.”
