Parks in Vijaywada to get much-needed facelift by VMC

Existing parks and open spaces in the city will get a major facelift as Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) is contemplating to renovate and beautify them, said municipal commissioner J Nivas.

VIJAYAWADA: Existing parks and open spaces in the city will get a major facelift as Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) is contemplating to renovate and beautify them, said municipal commissioner J Nivas.

On Sunday, Nivas inspected the Raghavaiah Park on MG Road and directed the horticulture department officials to develop walking track and other facilities for the convenience of the public. Observing the defunct fountain, he instructed officials to upgrade and equip the park with best infrastructure to beautify the existing landscape and flower layouts to attract more visitors.

The civic body chief also expressed his dissatisfaction over the poor maintenance of greenery and children’s play items. He directed officials to prepare estimates and develop the damaged flooring on the walking track. Nivas instructed officials to construct a fence in across Bandar canal bund.
