Cops say no to Mudragada’s padayatra

AP DGP N Sambasiva Rao on Sunday said that police would not give permission for Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham’s Padayatra until he follows the guidelines set by the Supreme Court.

VIJAYAWADA: AP DGP N Sambasiva Rao on Sunday said that police would not give permission for Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham’s Padayatra until he follows the guidelines set by the Supreme Court.

Rao made it clear that the police would not spare any individual who resort violence in the name of agitations or Pada Yatras in the State.

As of date, none of them from Mudragada’s camp has approached the police seeking permission for the Padayatra. In case they need permission, they should follow the restrictions imposed by police taking law and order problems into consideration, he said.

On the other hand, Home Minister N Chinnarajappa made it clear that State government would not give permission to Mudragadda’s fresh agitation as it would create law and order problems in the State.
