GUNTUR: Workers of MGNREGA staged a protest at the MPDO office in Epuru on Friday demanding payment of wages.
They blocked the road at the MPDO office for an hour. The workers alleged that wages were not being paid to them promptly for the past few months. Epuru SI M Pattabhiramaiah reached the spot and urged the workers to discuss the matter with the MPDO after giving up their road blockade.
Following an assurance given by MPDO M Atchi Reddy that their wage dues would be cleared within a week, the workers left the place.
