Honeymoon is over, now start capital work, irked Naidu tells CRDA officials

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has reviewed the progress of capital city works with officials of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) on Wednesday.
“Honeymoon is over. I have given you more time. I am allocating 4 to 5 hours time every week. But, there will be no use with speeches without getting into the action,’’ Chief Minister said, criticising the officials.

Hybrid Annuity Model
Officials informed the CM that projects worth around `10,000 crore will be open to bidders under Hybrid Annuity Model for LPS infrastructure. Andhra Pradesh will be the second biggest issuer of projects under HAM in India. The CM directed officials to follow the path of the National Highway Authority of India.

Statue of NTR
Officials presents the idea of placing a 108-metre-tall statue of TDP founder NT Rama Rao on Neerukonda Hill and the possibility of access of view-points through the arm of the statue. The designs include memorial, cafeteria, ropeway cable car, giant wheel and some leisure activities.
The CM asked officials to dedicate all the content behind the concept designs to the two aspects of his life, his film career and his political biography. CM also directs officials to dedicate a memorial and park to Mahatma Gandhi possibly in Sakhamuru Regional Park.For the Secretariat and HoD buildings, officials submitted design options to the Chief Minister. There will five towers of 35 or 36 floors.

Bike sharing system
Public bicycle sharing has been installed in the Secretariat campus in Velagapudi. This is following an MoU signed between All India Bicycling Federation (AIBF), Hyderabad Bicycling Club and CRDA. The AIBF plans to deploy smart bikes imported from Germany, and implement a concept of sharing bikes, with tracking and safety features. Andhra Bank is the sponsor for the project, and has agreed to take up operation and maintenance costs. As part of the pilot project, 24 bikes, at the cost of `30 lakh, will be made available.

The CM asked officials to design an annual event, to exhibit different investors, innovators and entrepreneurs of various fields and bring together the best names in the world. He asked them to take inspiration from Dubai Expo.
