The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that the low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a depression in the next 48 hours. Subsequently, it is likely to move northwestwards to south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coast by October 19. Till 8 am on Sunday, 7 cm rain was received at Nandikotkur in Kurnool district and Kundurpi in Anantapur district; 6 cm at Settur in Anantapur district; 5 cm at Lepakshi in Anantapur district and Chittoor town.
