VIJAYAWADA: After the disrespect shown to the portrait of AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu during a function at the Secretariat, CRDA officials have installed more number of CCTV cameras in and around the building.

According to a CRDA official in the Secretariat, only a few areas like main entrance and entrances of every block were under CCTV observation earlier. After the incident, CCTV surveillance has been extended to the space between the blocks in order to observe the movements of passers-by.

Though the incident took place in the 4th block, two additional cameras in each block have been installed, increasing the number of cameras in each block to 8.

It is one of the recommendations of the officer who inquired into the issue of showing disrespect to CM’s portrait, by placing food waste on it.
