IMA Vijayawada elects members for 2017-18

President Bose said that the new body would work to improve the working conditions of the doctors, who are in service or practicing privately.

VIJAYAWADA: He Vijayawada branch of Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Sunday elected Dr. MSC Bose as its president for the year 2017-18 after recognising his services to the public.

At a programme held here, members elected other office-bearers unanimously--Dr. B Hanumaiah and Dr. R K Ayodhya (vice presidents), Dr. Rasik Sanghvi (Honorary secretary), Dr. Y Keerthi Rao and Dr. T Karthik (joint secretaries) and Dr. B Mallika (finance secretary).

President Bose said that the new body would work to improve the working conditions of the doctors, who are in service or practicing privately.

Different kinds of continued medical education programmes

would be planned throughout the year, thereby keeping the doctors informed about the latest happenings in the field of medicine, he added.

Former President Dr S Keshava Rao presented the annual report and said Vijayawada branch of IMA has bagged several prestigious awards at the State level during 2016-17. Various medical camps are conducted at rural areas. Medicines are also distributed free of cost to the women patients as part of the camp, he added.
