VIJAYAWADA: A 25-year-old youth accidentally fell into Rivas canal on Monday. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) conducted search operations on Tuesday following a complaint from his family members. Even after twenty-two hours of search operations, the youth could not be traced.
According to Satyanarayanapuram police station, the youth was identified as Haneef Khan who fell into the Rivas canal accidentally while washing his face. His brother, a fruit-seller by profession, saw him drowning in the canal and alerted locals for help. But they could not save him. “We called NDRF teams to trace his body but could not find him. Similar teams have been appointed downstream for the search operation,” said Satyanarayana circle inspector.
