Fans, denizens pay floral tribute to legendary singer Ghantasala

VIJAYAWADA: To mark the 96th birth anniversary of Padmashri Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao, Sadashiv Music Group from Kakinada on Tuesday performed various songs sung and composed by the late music composer at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Music College here.

Ghantasala was one of the most popular playback singers of the Telugu industry during the 50s and 60s.
Singer Angadi Siva Prasad, along with his group, extended tribute to the legendary singer in front of a huge audience by singing some of his popular numbers such as ‘Andame Anandam’, ‘Oobalu Gusagusalade’ and ‘Neelo Nenai’.

“He was the most talented singer of the Telugu industry. We all could connect so well with his songs. I am very happy that his birth anniversaries are celebrated with enthusiasm by young singers today. He was really a legend,” S Prakash, one among the audience, said.
