VIJAYAWADA: Exuding confidence that Congress-led People’s Front, of which TDP is a constituent will win Telangana elections, IT Minister Nara Lokesh welcomed his Telangana counterpart KT Rama Rao to campaign in Andhra Pradesh.

His reaction comes in the wake of KTR’s recent statement that TRS too will enter AP politics if its Chief Minister and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu continues to meddle in Telangana politics.

“KTR can campaign in Andhra Pradesh and the State government will not resort to illegal arrests and undemocratic practices,” he said. The IT Minister was referring to the arrest of Congress candidate from Kodangal A Revanth Reddy in a crackdown on his residence on Tuesday.

He was interacting with mediapersons on the sidelines of the government entering a MoU with China-based electronic manufacture Sunny Opotech at the Interim Government Complex in Velagapudi on Tuesday.

Finding fault with the TRS criticism that Naidu obstructed development of Telangana, the minister said, “After failing to come good on promises made to people, the TRS is trying to pass the blame on to others.”
He asked the pink party leaders to reveal how and where Naidu created obstacles in Telangana’s development. “Whether he came in the way of making a Dalit as CM of Telangana? Whether he prevented the ruling TRS from distributing three acres of land to Dalits? Whether it was Naidu who stopped the government from constructing double-bed room houses?” Lokesh questioned.

Recalling that the TRS chief and Telangana caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on many occasions said he will not seek votes if he failed to provide water connections to every household in Telangana, the IT Minister sought to know what the TRS has to say now.

“Similarly, during elections held for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, the TRS leaders made tall promises. But in reality, Hyderabad had not witnessed any real development during the TRS regime except during Naidu’s regime,” he said.

Stating that companies such as Kia Motors, Asian Paints, Hero Motors set shop in Andhra Pradesh during the past four years, Lokesh sought to know if the TRS succeeded in getting any prestigious companies to Telangana.
