‘NTR Statue works to begin soon’

Speaking to the reporters after inspecting the ongoing works at the Judicial Complex on Thursday, Narayana added that the 32-metre-tall statue will be made of bronze.

HYDERABAD: Municipal Administration minister and vice-chairperson of APCRDA P Narayana said that the works related to NTR statue proposed in Neerukonda as a part of the memorial would be launched in three months.

Speaking to the reporters after inspecting the ongoing works at the Judicial Complex on Thursday, Narayana added that the 32-metre-tall statue will be made of bronze. Even though a bronze statue would cost 30 per cent more than a cement statue, the authority is going ahead as the metal statue would have better longevity.

Talking about the judicial complex, which would house the High Court temporarily, Narayana said that the works were expected to be completed by the end of December. “We are using precast technology to conclude the works at the earliest,” he said, adding that the 320-km road network would be ready by March, 2019.

He noted that out of 5.54 lakh cubic metres of concrete work, 2.35 lakh cubic metres has been completed. He further criticised the BJP-led Centre for not sanctioning enough money for the construction of the capital.
