VIJAYAWADA: The state government has cancelled orders issued appointing former Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao as Chairman of Endowments Archakas and Other Employees Welfare Fund Trust. The government appointed Krishna Rao to the Trust on January 29, 2016. The term of office is for three years and Rao would have continued in the position till January 2019 if his appointment was not cancelled.

However, the order issued by Special Chief Secretary Manmohan Singh on Thursday states, “the orders issued on January 29, 2016 appointing Krishna Rao as Chairman, Andhra Pradesh Endowments Archakas and Employees Welfare Trust were cancelled.”

The government already removed Krishna Rao from the post of chairman of the AP Brahmin Welfare Corporation in June last year, taking serious note of the reports that he had commented and shared posts on his Facebook account that were against the state government.

Krishna Rao, member of the Joint Fact Finding Committee, formed by Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, is one of the retired bureaucrats engaged in preparing the report on the Centre’s assistance to Andhra Pradesh, utilisation of funds and implementation of the promises made under AP Reorganisation Act.
