Vijaysai sticks to his guns, says more black sheep in Chief Minister’s Office

The YSRC leader stuck to his stand and alleged on Thursday that apart from Satish Chandra, two more IAS officials working in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) were also resorting to unfair practices.

VIJAYAWADA: Even as the IAS Officers’ Association of Andhra Pradesh condemned the remarks made by Rajya Sabha MP Vijayasai Reddy against Special Chief Secretary Satish Chandra, the YSRC leader stuck to his stand and alleged on Thursday that apart from Satish Chandra, two more IAS officials working in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) were also resorting to unfair practices.

On Wednesday, the IAS Officers’ Association had deplored the threat of vindictive action against the civil servant and appealed to all the political parties to desist from such irresponsible behaviour.Vijayasai Reddy alleged that the three IAS officials — Satish Chandra, Rajamouli, Saiprasad — and another IPS officer AB Venkateshwar Rao (Additional DGP Intelligence) were directly or indirectly involved in luring YSRC MLAs to the ruling party by arranging bribes for them.

“The bureaucrats who should protect the constitutional provisions independently with discipline and integrity are resorting to unfair practices, corrupt practices and acting in a manner unbecoming of an IAS or IPS officer.  Therefore, disciplinary action in accordance with civil service rules should be initiated against them,’’ Vijayasai Reddy demanded.

TDP, BJP condemn remarks

Alleging that the YSRC leaders right from party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy made it a habit to level baseless allegations against officials, Ministers K Atchannaidu and Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that blackmailing employees is a criminal activity.Condemning the remarks of Vijayasai Reddy against the bureaucrats, the ministers demanded an apology from him.

Recalling that Jagan himself threatened officials, including Krishna District Collector and Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner, the ministers said YSRC MP P Mithun Reddy and MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy too resorted to similar acts in the past.Condemning the remarks of Vijayasai Reddy against bureaucrats, BJP floor leader P Vishnu Kumar Raju opined that it is not fair to attribute politics to officials.

Meanwhile, Narasaraopet TDP MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, in a letter to the DGP, demanded him to register cases against both YSRC chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy and Vijayasai Reddy for their objectionable comments against IAS and IPS officials. Rayapati Ranga Rao, son of the MP, submitted the letter to the DGP’s office.
