VIJAYAWADA: Seeking feedback and suggestions from the public, the Capital Region Development Authority on Friday released conceptual designs for the Judicial Complex to be built in Justice City and the proposed twin IT Towers in the capital region. The designs can be seen on the CRDA’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

The designs for the Judicial Complex proposed near Nelapadu, which will house the temporary High Court, were released a day after the full court of the Hyderabad High Court approved the AP government’s decision to build it to facilitate the HC’s relocation in the next eight months.

While the last day to send suggestions has not been specified, officials said they would begin consolidating public opinion and choices after two-three weeks. “Twelve conceptual designs of the Judicial Complex and nineteen of the twin IT Towers have been put in public domain. People can give their suggestions and choose the best of the lot. We will collate them and take them into consideration while finalising the designs,” an official said.

Meanwhile, the state government constituted 10 committees to organise the Happy Cities Summit-2018 scheduled to be held for three days from April 10. It has also said that the summit will be an annual event that would be held in the capital region. The first event will be organised at the A Convention Centre in Vijayawada.

While Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will head the steering committee that shall provide overall guidance, Municipal Minister P Narayana will lead the working committee that will help organise the event. Separate committees have been constituted to look after protocol, security, city beautification, Krishna river logistics, cultural events, exhibition, business alliances and media management.
In a shot to the arm for the new capital city, the government has decided to construct as many as 1,000 apartments at an estimated cost of `372 crore and to sell them to people through auction.
The government will construct double and triple bedroom plots in the apartment complex.

Speaking to mediapersons after attending the review meeting convened by the Chief Minister at the Interim Government Complex in Velagapudi on Friday, Narayana said hospitals, educational institutes and markets will be established in the capital city once the apartments were built.
He added that ta similar formula was implemented in developing Nayarayapur, Gandhi Nagar and Chandigarh as capital cities.Stating that the Chief Minister gave nod for construction works, he said tenders would be called once the designs were ready.
