I will not stop fight for Special Category Status, says CM  N Chandrababu Naidu

N Chandrababu Naidu has asserted that he will not rest until the Centre fulfils all the promises made to the state in AP State Reorganisation Act.

VIJAYAWADA:  Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has asserted that he will not rest until the Centre fulfils all the promises made to the state in AP State Reorganisation Act. He said that the responsibility of helping the state lies on the Centre.“Special Category Status (SCS), assurances made in Rajya Sabha and all the provisions mentioned in the AP State Reorganisation Act, should be fulfilled and we will continue the fight until achieving the same,’’ he said.

Attending the ‘E-Pragathi, Officers Graduation Ceremony’ held at Grievances Hall at his residence in Undavalli on Friday, he said that as a result of the Centre not making allocations to the State in the recent budget, they began raising the voice demanding that the Centre fulfils all the commitments made to the state. He said that there was no second thoughts about continuing the fight for achieving the rights of the State. He, however, cautioned that the State would suffer by adopting confrontational approach and ignoring other issues pertaining to the State.

“We should not deviate from our target of making AP the world’s best destination.”Stating that droughts would be a thing of past in the State once interlinking of five rivers - Vamsadhara, Nagavali, Krishna, Godavari and Pennar - which he called ‘Maha Sangamam,’ was completed, he said that it was possible and his government would prove it. On the occasion, the CM felicitated 96 officers from 51 departments during the Graduation Ceremony, a Joint Certificate Programme called Digital Transformation in Public Governance, supported by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and ISB.

The CM congratulated all the participating officers, and lauded the efforts of the faculty at ISB, which ensured more than 90% attendance for lessons that were taught using case studies, technological tools and other non-traditional methods. He also spoke about the goal of ensuring that every family in AP will have one digitally literate person. “Technology is constantly changing, and I want the people of my State to have easy access to it.”Speaking on the occasion, IT Minister Nara Lokesh urged officials of all departments to participate in this transition to seamless, paperless and real-time governance.
