VIJAYAWADA: Desisting himself from divulging the future course of action to be adopted in case of the Centre not fulfilling the promises made to the State under AP Reorganisation Act, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the nation would suffer if the national parties like the Congress and BJP went against the sentiments of people.

“Despite not getting proper cooperation from the Centre, we are going in the direction of development. Except Suresh Prabhu, no other Union Minister turned up for the CII Partnership Summit. But, we have succeeded in getting around `4.4 lakh crore worth investments. That is because of my leadership and the transparency in the government,” he claimed.

Giving a likely future scenario in national politics, he said that in case of parties like Congress and BJP failed to get enough number of seats, it would be inevitable for them to depend on others for support. “Even now, we would have been in a position to bargain with the Centre if the BJP did not get majority on its own. Let us see, what will happen next,” he said.

Speaking to mediapersons at the Grievances Cell adjacent to his residence in Undavalli on Tuesday evening, the CM said that he was only demanding what was mentioned in the Act and nothing more. “At the same time, we should not propagate that nothing had happened in the State and we should go on striving for the development of the State and build a constructive pressure on the Centre for achieving our demands,” he said.

When asked about BJP’s belligerence against TDP, he said people were very wise in the State. “They will not come out on the streets often to protest. But, will show their strength at right time. The Congress was eliminated from the State for its unscientific state bifurcation. The party  secured only 800 votes in the Nandyal Assembly election,” he said. Coming down heavily on the YSRC remarks that the TDP government only juggled figures on investments at the Partnership Summit, he said that everything related to the investments, creation of jobs would be kept online. “I never came across such opposition working with the single agenda of obstructing the development of the State,’’ he said.
