VIJAYAWADA: An engineering student with backlogs committed suicide by immolating self at her residence near Gannavaram on Thursday.
According to Gannavaram police, the deceased was identified as Subbalakshmi (22), a third-year engineering student at NRI Engineering College, Agiripalli. The incident happened around 6.30 pm when Subbalakshmi was alone at her home.
Unable to handle pressure, the student took the extreme step and committed suicide by immolating self. She was shifted to Vijayawada Government General Hospital (GGH) for postmortem. A case under Section 174 of CrPC (Unnatural death) was registered.
