VIJAYAWADA: Ruling TDP activists on Monday created ruckus at a toll plaza after the vehicle in which they were travelling was stopped by the staff for payment of toll.

The ruling party activists damaged the window panes of the cabin and entered into an argument with the toll plaza staff leading to tension. The incident took place at Keesara toll plaza in Krishna district.

The TDP activists from two villages near Nandigama were on their way to Polavaram project, a national project, site which is being taken up on river Godavari.

The TDP government in the state has been organising tours to the project site to tell the people how the government is constructing the project even as the Centre is going ahead even without the support of the Centre.

As the two RTC buses hired by the TDP leaders and activists to Polavaram site reached the toll plaza, the staff there stopped the vehicle for payment of the toll. The TDP leaders then entered into an argument with the staff there and asked them as to how they can stop the bus in which ruling party leaders are travelling.

In the commotion, some TDP activists damaged the window panes of the cabins leading to tension. Police reached the place and pacified the ruling party leaders and let the buses pass the plaza. However, no complaint has been registered by the toll plaza staff against the ruling party leaders.
