The New Indian Express chief photographer Ravuri Venkata Koteswara Rao selected for US fellowship

With the fellowship, Koteswara Rao will be able to participate in all International salons of photography recognised by ICS, FIAP, RPS and PSA.

VIJAYAWADA:  The New Indian Express chief photographer Ravuri Venkata Koteswara Rao has been selected for the prestigious fellowship of Image Colleague Society International (ICS), USA, a renowned organisation in the field of photography.

Impressed with the qualitative and erudite photographs clicked by Koteswara Rao, the ICS, in a communique, said, “With your studious professionalism, you, being an experienced press photographer, are able to maintain theme and subtle philosophy in your scenic work. It is definitely a rare opportunity for ICS to choose your entry, which was one among many applications received from all over the world this year.’’

The fellowship will be presented to Rao at a special photographic convention. With the fellowship, Koteswara Rao will be able to participate in all International salons of photography recognised by ICS, FIAP, RPS and PSA.

Koteswara Rao has 34 years of experience in the field of photo journalism. Last year, he was honoured with associateship from the same organisation. Koteswara Rao has been associated with TNIE for the last 24 years and is currently working as Chief Photographer of TNIE in Vijayawada.

Koteswara Rao’s coverage of Laddagiri by-poll rigging led to the cancellation of the election by the then Election Commissioner T N Seshan. Koteswara Rao is the son of Jnanpeeth awardee the late Ravuri Bharadwaja.
