Newly-established Central University of AP invites applications for UG, PG courses

The newly-established Central University of Andhra Pradesh has invited applications from students for various UG and PG programmes. 

VIJAYAWADA: The newly-established Central University of Andhra Pradesh has invited applications from students for various UG and PG programmes. Interested candidates can apply online through the university website acad.uohyd.ac.in before June 30. The Central University of AP is offering six courses -- BSc (honours) Economics, BA (honours) Political Science, MA Telugu, MA English language and Literature, B Vocational Tourism and Travel management and B Voc in Retail management and IT.

In May this year, the Union Cabinet has given in-principle approval for setting up Central University in Janthaluru village of Anantapur district. The Centre also sanctioned `450 crore for setting up the Central University of Andhra Pradesh.

The Cabinet also approved the proposal for operating the university in a transit campus to enable the commencement of academic activities from the 2018-19 academic year. The Central University of Hyderabad will mentor the AP campus and take care of the admission process.

As of now, the University will function from JNTU Anantapur campus. S Krishnaiah, Registrar of JNTU  Anantapur, said, “The place is ready for running the classes of Central University. The University officials from Hyderabad visited the campus and studied about it.”
