VIJAYAWADA: Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar inaugurated two digital classrooms, as part of the AP Janmabhoomi initiative, at the Zilla Parishad (Girls) High School in Kondapalli of the district on Tuesday. With this, the total number of digital classrooms in the state has reached 2,700.

Speaking on the occasion, Dinesh Kumar advised the students to make optimal use of the facilities. Recalling his school days, he explained how he used the internet to gain knowledge on a wide range of issues. He lauded the efforts of the NRIs who have been contributing for the development of Andhra Pradesh through the AP Janmabhoomi platform.

On the occasion, the Chief Secretary gave away AP Janmabhoomi 2017 awards to the District Education Officers (DEOs) of West Godavari and East Godavari districts RS Ganga Bhavani and S Abraham respectively for making the best use of digital classrooms which were established in their districts.
Representatives of the initiative said the awards were given to motivate the stakeholders to use the facilities. “The idea is not just to establish digital classrooms, but also to ensure that they are used by the students and teachers effectively,” said Jayaram Komati, Special Representative for North America of AP Janmabhoomi initiative.
