VIJAYAWADA:  The AP Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) officials instructed the contractors, constructing the houses for public representatives and officials, to ready a few model flats by the end of April for Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to inspect those and give his approval. CRDA commissioner Cherukuri Sreedhar and additional commissioner Shan Mohan, on Friday, reviewed the development of layouts and the progress of housing projects in the capital city and directed the contractors to expedite the works.

“A model flat of each category - for MLAs/MLCs, All India Service officials and other staff - should be ready by the end of next month. The chief minister and the municipal minister P Narayana will inspect those and give their views,” a CRDA official said. The officials asked the contractors to make arrangements so that construction works can be done even during nights in the rainy season.

“The pending approvals also should be obtained by the end of March,” the commissioner and the additional commissioner said. Later in the day, CRDA released a press release stating that the last day for receiving suggestions and objections regarding the draft plan of Inner Ring Road had been extended by a day to March 19. The CRDA also held the weekly open forum on Friday and cleared 15 of the 21 applications filed.
