Delhi-bound train delayed for two hours after bomb hoax

Five bomb disposal squads from the Railway Police, local police and RPF searched all the coaches and the passengers belongings but could not found any explosives.

VIJAYAWADA: Delhi-bound Tamil Nadu Express was halted for nearly two hours on the outskirts of Vijayawada after an unknown person called the police saying that explosives were planted in the train. The local police and railway authorities, who searched the entire coaches for nearly two hours, declared the call as a prank.

The Tamil Nadu Express was stopped at the Krishna Canal Junction in Tadepalli mandal of Guntur, just a few minutes away from Vijayawada. Guntur Railway Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajay Prasad said they were informed about the threat call from higher officials and the train was immediately halted at Krishna Canal Junction.
