VIJAYAWADA: The notification to fill 500 to 1,000 vacant posts by Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) is likely to be released next week. The notification, which was to be released by October-end, got delayed as the departments concerned did not give indents to the APPSC .

Speaking to TNIE, APPSC chairperson P Uday Bhaskar said that the recruitment for the vacant posts would be done in a transparent manner as per the State government’s instructions. “We are yet to receive clearances from the departments concerned. Once that is done, we will issue the first notification. It will be issued within a week. More notifications will be issued this month to fill around  500 to 1,000 posts.” As of now, only a few departments have given their clearances and indents. Posts of assistant executive engineer and welfare officer are among those that will be filled first. The notification for Group-1 and Group-2 posts will be issued at last and these posts will also be filled last, said the official.Between 30 and 40 notifications will be issued to fill over 6,000 posts and the process will be completed in a span of six months to one year, he added.

“In the next few days, we will issue the academic calendar specifying things such as the dates of examinations. As the government released an official order regarding the extension of the upper age limit, a large number of candidates are likely to take up the examination. We are yet to get the indents on the number of posts from some departments.”

“We have received a few of them and we are ready to issue notification for those posts. As far as Group-1 and Group-2 posts are concerned, notifications for them will be issued last as indents for them have to come from multiple departments,” he added.
