VIJAYAWADA: Director General of Police RP Thakur has said the State police will recruit 3,057 people for various posts, including 334 sub-inspectors (SIs) and 2,723 constables, before the general elections next year.

Addressing the media, Thakur released the State-level police recruitment notification-2018. The final written test for the selection will be conducted in the first week of February.  Candidates for SI posts can apply online on the website slprb.ap.gov.in till November 24. For constable posts, the last date of applying online is December 7. 

“We are taking up the drives in a phased manner to reach the sanctioned strength. While the sanctioned staff strength for all the four categories stands at 72,754, we have 60,520 staff at present.

With the recruitment of 3,057 people, we will be able to reduce the workload on staff and improve policing,” Thakur said.
