VIJAYAWADA: A 55-year-old woman was beaten to death by her son after she refused to give him money for buying liquor in Valivarthipadu village of Gudivada mandal, police said on Wednesday.
Though the incident happened on Tuesday evening and came to light on Wednesday morning when neighbours found the woman, Aadamma, unconscious at her residence.
She was rushed to a hospital where she was declared brought dead, police said. The police then launched a manhunt for her son G Venkata Ramana (28) and arrested him from Gudivada town around 1 pm on Wednesday.According to the police, Ramana was addicted to alcohol.
