Sony assures support to AP government in Media City development in Amaravati

Hailing the vision of the State government in the development of Amaravti, the representatives of Sony assured to extend support to the State.

VIJAYAWADA: Representatives of Sony Motion Pictures have assured to extend cooperation to the State government for the development of film industry in AP as well as establishing a media centre of excellence in Amaravati.

During a meeting with Information Technology and Panchayat Raj Minister Nara Lokesh at the Interim Government Complex in Velagapudi on Thursday, the representatives of Sony, including its executive vice-president and head of international production Laine Kline and managing director Vivek Krishna, responded positively to the appeal made by the minister.

Lokesh explained the proposed Media City, Entertainment City, Health City in the capital city of Amaravati as well as the opportunities for investing in AP and sought the support of Sony in the development of Media City,  media centre of excellence and giving skill training to youths in cinema production. 

He said plans were afoot to conduct an exclusive event on film sector and wanted the participation of Sony in it. Hailing the vision of the State government in the development of Amaravti, the representatives of Sony assured to extend support to the State.
