HYDERABAD: A 19-year-old man was feared drowned at NSP Canal in Vissannapeta mandal on Monday. The man was identified as Anasani Jammala Rao, a first-year degree student at a private college. According to Vissannapeta Circle Inspector Chiranjeevi, the incident happened around 10 am when the youth and his friend Sudhakar Babu decided to take a bath in the canal. When they ventured into the water, Jammala Rao was dragged in by strong currents.
“The two youths could not estimate the depth of the canal and were washed away by strong currents,” the CI said.
