Vijayawada: Durga to be adorned with one crore bangles

‘Laksha Bilvarchana’ will be performed in front of Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy on Nov 12, 19, 23, 26, December 3 and 5. 

VIJAYAWADA: The presiding deity of Kanaka Durga Temple will be adorned with one crore bangles as part of the annual ritual to be celebrated on November 9, said temple Executive Officer V Koteswaramma on Tuesday. 

For the last three years, the devasthanam has been decorating the Goddess with bangles offered by devotees and the ones designed by temple authorities, she said. However, this year, devotees from Chirala and Prakasam district offered one crore bangles to the Goddess and arrangements were being made to decorate the temple and adorn the deity with the bangles for the occasion, she added.

The EO also said that the month-long ‘Karthika Masaothsavam’ will be observed from November 8 to December 7. ‘Laksha Bilvarchana’ will be performed in front of Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy on Nov 12, 19, 23, 26, December 3 and 5.
