Get a Move on!

Relocating has never been this easy. Sign up with EZMove for a hassle-free experience
Get a Move on!

Two years ago, Anand Agarwal, 36, was planning to move his house. But his ordeal with movers and packers suggested by JustDial prompted him to start EZMove.in, a movers and packers aggregator that lists service providers in the industry. In a price-sensitive industry such as this, they aim to reduce the hassles.

Anand, an engineer from IIT-Kanpur has worked with Geometric and Cognizant on project management, after which he started Sensible Softwares before EZMove. He is joined by Vishwajeet Singh, 29, as the co-founder. Vishwajeet has an engineering degree from the Army Institute of Technology, Pune, and was also the Chief Technology Officer at Sensible. The duo met while working at Geometric, after which they started Sensible, which folded after three-and–a-half years.

Started in August 2013, the online portal has eight employees today. Vishwajeet says, “We are currently focused on signing reliable movers and use the best technology tools to service customers.” At EZMove, people can choose among a set of movers and packers whose services have been verified and the user gets to choose the most affordable option.

Anand says, “There are no hidden costs. We have a stringent screening process in place before signing up a mover. We begin by meeting the owner at their office, checking their documentation, and warehouse infrastructure and at the time of checking, if there is a relocation going on, we inspect the quality of packing, their behaviour with the customer and, finally, we check references within the industry.”

EZMove has partnered with more than 50 movers and packers. They have a dedicated ‘Move Coordinator’ who acts as a point of contact between the customer and the mover. In fact, EZMove will even go to the extent of sending a co-coordinator to travel with the truck in which goods are moved. Vishwajeet adds, “We provide a hassle-free moving experience to the customers. One only needs to fill an online form and the rest is easy. We have employed a digital marketing team to give us the much-needed visibility.” A bootstrapped company, they are looking for funding now. Anand adds that they are looking at signing at least 200-250 movers and packers. “We are currently focussed on signing reliable movers and use the best technology to reach customers in the next two years. Planning to break even by the end of 2015, they have serviced more than 1,000 customers and are seeing a 25-30 per cent growth.
